Future-Forward Living: How The Sage Plant Is Driving Sustainable PropTech in the Piedmont Triad

At Go Natural, we champion the trailblazers building a greener, more connected tomorrow—and no one embodies that spirit quite like The Sage Plant. This visionary High Point–based company is transforming construction across North Carolina through a powerful blend of global innovation, local design, and deep community engagement.

With multiple projects now underway in the Piedmont Triad, The Sage Plant is partnering with R.A.P. (Resilient. Adaptive. PropTech.) Ventures LLC, Landon Stone of Beyond Home Advisors, and Coates Design Architects to roll out a new wave of sustainable development. At the heart of this effort is Emmedue's adaptive panel (A.P.) technology—a modular building system that’s lightweight, energy-efficient, and seismically resilient. By dramatically reducing both construction timelines and carbon footprints, it’s paving the way for smarter, faster, and more conscious building methods.

CEO Alex Dummit, a High Point native, is leading this effort with a bold vision: to build not just structures, but communities that are resilient, inclusive, and full of life. “The Triad is ready for the next wave of construction innovation,” says Dummit. “We’re showing what’s possible when global advancements meet local culture.”

That promise is already coming to life in High Point’s soon-to-be Southwest Mill District, where The Sage Plant is building a unique micro-community at 319 Ennis Street. This pilot site includes three model homes constructed with Emmedue technology, plus a series of intentional community features designed with input from residents:

🌸 A vibrant wildflower garden that invites nature back into urban space

🐝 A bee hotel and hummingbird tree to support local ecosystems

🍦 A locally owned ice cream shop that creates a sweet, shared gathering place

“This project is an invitation,” says Dummit. “It’s a call to imagine neighborhoods that are not only sustainable but also connected, intentional, and alive with purpose.”

Backed by successful projects nationwide, The Sage Plant is now planting deep roots in its home state, using design as a tool for social impact and environmental stewardship. As the company continues to scale, its values remain the same: elevate people, honor place, and build for generations.
